Guiding Question: Is it feasible for a robot to create a cleaner environment? Would it improve our world or result in problems?

Cleaning the environment is one of the many problems the world is facing today. We explored whether robots could be a tool to help clean up trash and save the environment. We started our project by conducting online research, completing surveys and interviews, and job shadowing our mentor, Mrs. Delilah Martinez, from the City of McAllen. With our research and fieldwork experience, we created a prototype of a robot that will help make the environment cleaner. Our robot is designed to pick up water bottles. After collecting supporting data, it was concluded that the used of robots can help improve and solve environmental issues. Watch our video to see highlights from our fieldwork experience!
